B.Sc Honours in Environmental Science

 

The study of whole outer physical and biological system in which man and other organisms live - is a whole, albeit a complicated one with many interacting components. It is the study of atmosphere, the land, the water, and the great chemicals cycles that flow through the physical and biological system. Population, poverty and environment, which are interrelated, are the major issues and great challenges in the present condition of globalization. The vast majority, of people is directly dependent on the natural resources for their basic need, which are degraded and/or polluted continuously. So, this environment degradation and pollution adversely affect the population of world. Thus the Government has taken a strong decision to protect the environment from all kinds of hazards. So, the study of environment is must is all courses like Arts, Science Technology, Commerce etc. Hence the field of environment is getting priority in education, research and industrial fields opening up vistas of opportunities in this field. So, environmentalist has a great scope to establish him or her in the present scenario of employment.

Duration        -  Three years

 

Session           -  The session begins  from July 1st and closes on 30th June next year

Eligibility     -   Students who have passed H.S. (10+2)/I.S.C/C.B,S.E. or equivalent with minimum 45% marks and having Chemistry and Biology as combination subjects at H.S. or equivalent examination are eligible for admission. Students are admitted on the basis of previous academic records and merit.

N.B : For food, students have to pay the amount for 10 months in an year. Food includes breakfast, lunch, Tiffin and dinner. Fees once paid cannot be refunded under any circumstances. Students seeking transfer certificate or withdrawal of names from the roll must pay fees up to date. The caution money deposited by a student may be refunded after the completion of studies.
